ChurchBiz Tools - Bill

Managing your finances can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to processing payments. Luckily, there are tools available that can simplify this process. One of these tools is Bill (formerly bill.com), which streamlines payments and provides a clear approval trail. It's an excellent option for churches that need to reimburse their team or pay vendors who require checks. In this brief post, we'll take a look at how Bill works and what pricing options are available. The primary advantage of Bill is its streamlined check payment process and straightforward approval trail for those payments. Most churches use it for reimbursements, paying vendors who need checks, and its approval features.

Here is how Bill works for most churches:

  • Church gets an invoice or check request.

  • Invoice/Check Request emailed (as an attachment or scanned in) to the church's Bill mail. Each organization receives a unique Bill email address for this.

  • ChurchBiz then receives the email (along with its attachments) and turns it into a payable bill. This involves entering vendor info, payment due date, and coding expenses into appropriate budget categories.

  • Whoever the church designates as approvers receive a notice and must approve the payment. This can be one person or multiple approvers.

  • Once approved, ChurchBiz confirms the payment. Payments will either be mailed via paper check (Bill handles this), or if a vendor sets up direct deposit with Bill they will be paid via direct deposit. If needed, Bill can even pay via Wire transfer. ChurchBiz is also able to track payments and update clients on the status of the payment.

Bill typically costs about $55 per month. If you want to learn more about Bill you can check out their info page here - LINK. We love Bill at ChurchBiz!
